Q: What are the system requirements to participate in a ground school?
A: Bright Spot Inc. subscribes to a commercial webinar service provider and has no control over the system requirements. Our experience has shown that most "standard" computer systems will work as long as high speed Internet service is available. Marginal Internet connections may produce some breaks in the audio stream and other minor interruptions. Very high settings on virus protection or firewalls sometimes interfere with the ability to connect to the service. The system is supposed to work with Mac computers and generally does. However, 98% of the difficulties reported to us involve Mac computers. For a detailed listing of the system requirements provided by the webinar service in a new window, click here.

Q: How many people will be participating?
A: The maximum number of attendees is limited to 25 so that all questions can be answered and meaningful discussion can take place.

Q: Do I need a microphone and speakers?
A: Speakers or a headset are required to hear the audio which is a critical part of the presentation. A microphone or microphone/headset combination is necessary only if you would like to participate in discussions.

Q: Will I have an opportunity to participate in discussions?
A: Yes, providing you have a microphone installed and working.

Q: How does registration work?
A: Please register for the course using your FAASafety.gov email so that you can receive Wings credit for the course. Payment is made securely via PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to register; any major credit card can be used. Within 24 hours after your payment is completed, you will receive an email containing your unique log-in link. Please save that email. You will log into each session by simply clicking on the log-in link or copying it and pasting it into your browser.

Q: What if I miss a session?
A: Attendance at all sessions is strongly suggested. Live discussion with attendees often provides valuable insights. However, sometimes things happen that prevent attendance. In case that happens, an opportunity is provided to complete a missed session via an online session specific to the missed session. Please note that the online make-up sessions require the successful completion of a brief quiz.

Q: Will there be make-up sessions ?
A: No, there will be no make-up sessions. But, each of the four sessions will have a corresponding online session. If a session is missed, it can be made up by taking the online course. Please note that the online make-up courses require the successful completion of a brief quiz.

Q: How do I get Wings credit for the course?
A: Wings credit is usually issued within 48 hours after the final session has ended. Attendance at all four sessions, or completion of the online session corresponding to any missed sessions, is required.

Q: Is there a test?
A: No, not for the live sessions. If a session is missed and made up by completing the session online, there is a quiz specific to the material in that session.

Q: What if I register and then cannot attend?
A: A full refund will be given provided that cancellation is received via email to gene.benson@brightspotsafety.com at least 48 hours before the start of the first session. No refunds will be given after that time, but any sessions missed can be made-up online.

Q: Is this really a live event?
A: Yes. The presenter is conducting the presentation in real time. However, this is not a live seminar simply being broadcast. You will see the slides and not the presenter. (We hear he's not very pleasant to look at anyway.)

Q: How do I log on?
A: You will receive a confirmation email that contains a unique log-on link. A few minutes before the time of the event, simply click the link or copy it and paste it into your browser. The unique log-on link identifies you so that you can receive your Wings credit. Please save the unique log-on link as you will use the same log-on for each of the four sessions.

Q: Will I receive a certificate?
A: Yes. Within 48 hours after the last session is completed a course completion certificate will be emailed to you. You may print the certificate if you wish.
